Facial Laser rejuvenation is becoming popular cosmetic procedures. Laser rejuvenation is a new non-ablative treatment that works simultaneously to repair collagen in the dermis, or deepest layer of the skin, while gently erasing signs of aging in the top layer of skin. This exceptional laser treatment selectively delivers amplified pulses of light to the dermis, which causes injury, followed by subsequent repair and stimulation of the existing collagen. Since the epidermis is rarely damaged by this treatment, there are no visible signs that the skin is being rejuvenated as occurs with other traditional ablative procedures.
The laser rejuvenation can reduce the signs of aging and sun damage, including fine wrinkles, superficial acne scars, enlarged pores, freckles and uneven pigmentation, as well as redness and vein dilated.
During the procedure, depending on the type of device used, you may experience mild stinging or burning. The area treated may also feel hot for about 15 minutes or so after treatment.
 

Ideal candidate

1. Significant sun damage in the form of freckles, sunspots.
2. Small broken blood vessels or other red lesions on your face.
3. Fine wrinkles
4. Superficial acne scars, rough skin that is losing texture and color, or increasing pore size.
5. Drooping skin in the jowl or brow area, and deep marionette lines.
 

Risks and side effects

Laser or light rejuvenation treatment can leave skin blisters or burns and temporary swelling. While this is rare, it may lead to mild scarring and changes in skin color or pigment. Some types of laser rejuvenation therapy aren’t advised for darker skin tones.

 
Post treatment care

1. Avoid heavy sun exposure, use sunscreen on a daily basis with an SPF of 30 or higher.
2. The evening of the rejuvenation and the morning after: No scrubbing with a washcloth, no hot water or harsh soap on the face. Use tepid to cool water and be gentle with the skin. Gently blot dry and be careful if you shower not to let hot water flow over your face.
5. For maximum response, re-treatments are typically done every four weeks for a total of 5 treatments. Improvements to the skin from collagen stimulation can be noted up to six months after the final treatment. Six months after the final treatment maintenance, treatments can be performed as needed. These are usually done several months apart or may not be needed at all. However, most patients will notice improvement after one treatment.
6. Most patients return to work or their usual daily activities immediately following the procedure. The effect of different light-based systems varies according to the type of equipment and the person’s skin type.
